The French teacher shared her experiences with teachers from Matanzas and with French and Slovak scholars, during a meeting of cultures held at the University of Matanzas.
Almost three months ago he arrived at the Camilo Cienfuegos university headquarters. Since then, it has broken the streets of the institution in one goal: to graduate from a Master’s Degree in French for Foreigners. While studying, Valérie Bonnecaze teaches her native language with pride to three groups.
«I teach French classes to English teachers interested in this language, also to Tourism students who are going to finish their studies soon and to professors of the Department of International Relations,» he says with joy.
The teacher arrived in Cuba through a high-level French program that offers masters in different countries every year. Selected among the candidates, she chose this Island because of her language:
“Among the proposals, this was the only place where Spanish was spoken and I wanted to learn the language. In addition, Cuba is a somewhat mythical country in the whole world and I really wanted to discover this culture. Add to that the tropical climate, which I like very much. ”
Far from her homeland and his family, studying a master’s degree at the University of Matanzas gives the French teacher Valérie Bonnecaze the enriching experience of exchanging knowledge and emotions with his new Matanzas friends. “I have felt very good among Cubans, because here people are very nice, very nice and calm. You can talk easily with them. It is a good experience, ”she confesses.
Despite being away from her two children, with whom she longs for the reunion, the teacher recognizes that what she learns today will help her a lot in her profession. He knows that the day of returning to France, in addition to the Master’s degree, will also carry the history, culture, geography and customs of the Cuban people.
