The cooperatives and peasants of the municipality of Calimete held their balance, renewal and / or ratification assembly of mandates prior to the XII Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers -ANAP-, which served as experience to the other territories of the province of Matanzas.
The meeting began with a tribute to the eternal leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz. Delegates spoke out against the economic, commercial and financial blockade, and the recent actions of the United States government to destabilize the revolutionary process.
The main interventions focused on the organic functioning, the work with the Union of Young Communists and the Federation of Cuban Women, the confrontation with crime, the political work of the grassroots organizations to increase production and the growth of associates.
During the exchange with the delegates Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Sardiñas, provincial president of the ANAP, urged to continue working to associate those people who have lands and are dedicated to cultivate them and to raise vigilance over all resources and productions to avoid crime.
He insisted on the use of animal traction and the rescue of traditions in the countryside, which allow to produce more with less resources.
The Assembly elected the new ANAP Committee and Municipal Bureau, headed by Dianelys López Rodríguez; In addition to the delegation that will attend the provincial assembly, on the 20th and 21st of March to come.
Among other leaders, the event was attended by José Guerra Brito, an official of the National Committee of the peasant association, and Luis Alberto Rodríguez Velázquez, a member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba.
