Ceiba Mocha Culture Day will start on Tuesday, January 14th, dedicated to the 61st anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, to the 60th of the literacy campaign and to the 60th anniversary of the creation of the movement of amateur artists.
The day also celebrates the 295 years of the town’s founding, close to completion. This demarcation stands out in Matanzas for its agricultural productions and traditions. An inaugural parade along Céspedes and Martí Streets will star in the popular Matanzas dolls and the Youth of the summer troupe to start the popular festivities.
During the evening, the premiere of the documentary dedicated to the current edition of the week of culture will take place and also pay tribute to the plastic artist Javier Isidro Pérez Verges and to the defenders of the movement of amateur artists in that town.
Accompanying this opening are the children of the Estrellitas Intranquilas project, members of the music, suddenness and literature workshops, the soloist Marta Roche and the audiovisual project Deja Vu. With an extensive program of recreational and cultural activities the celebrations will culminate on Sunday 19th, in the afternoon
