The 763 delegates of the Municipal Assemblies of the Popular Power in Matanzas are trained to face the election of the provincial governor and vice governor with a demonstration of unity, firmness and stability of compliance and adherence to the law, and thus highlight the democratic role of the Cuban Electoral System.
It is valid to express that something characterizes this process: open, transparent, based on the trust and honesty of those who serve the organized people. And there is an abysmal distance that separates them from a past of politicking, demagogy, violence and fraud, which periodically used to turn Cuba’s elections into shameful spectacle.
The delegates of the assemblies in the thirteen municipalities of Matanzas have deepened in the Cuban democratic system, which is based on the principle of the government of the people, by the people and for the people based on the fact that Cuba is an independent and sovereign socialist state, organized with all and for the good of all as a unitary and democratic republic for the enjoyment of political freedom, social justice, individual, collective well-being and human solidarity.
These representatives of the people in the highest governing body in Matanzas maintain in their preparation that for the Cuban revolutionary state democracy represents an integral and necessary element and there is no better proof than the constituent process that has just concluded, in which the people became actor of the same.
