A Chinese delegation headed by Mr. Ding Guang King was received in the Protocol Hall of the Sauto Theater, in Matanzas, by the director of International Relations of Popular Power, Juana Ortíz Ricardo, who spoke with them about the capital repair of this prestigious institution, a jewel of the territory.
The distinguished visitors exchanged with the City Conservator, Leonel Pérez Orozco, who offered a wide overview of the facilities of the city of Matanzas after a renewed image for the 325th anniversary of the city.
Pérez Orozco referred to the natural landscaping of Matanzas, its rivers, mountains and the beautiful bay where cruise ships can disembark, to its neoclassical structure, the three hotels, the cathedral and the Pharmaceutical Museum, the only one of its kind in the world.
The Conservative also described the walk along the San Juan river, with cultural, commercial and gastronomic activities. More than 20 thousand Chinese people settled here in 1856.
Ding Guang thanked the reception and especially learned about the history of their ancestors and the beauties of Matanzas next to the tourist pole of Varadero. He said that although there is still no concrete plan, the collaboration will be profound in tourism between China and Cuba.
