Preventing and modifying styles and customs of the Matanzas population with a view to raising the quality of life is a priority task for workers and managers of the Public Health sector in Matanzas territory. For this, there is a promotion program aimed at delaying or preventing the onset of chronic non-communicable and communicable diseases, in correspondence with the main health problems in the province.
Similarly, professionals in the sector face epidemiological events where the social communication strategy is vital and, among other actions, educational messages are issued by mass media to increase the perception of risk.
In this endeavor, primary care must assume a fundamental role, since the doctor and nurse of the family have within their functions to alert from the community itself and educate on issues that help to take care of health.
It is also important that the interest is from the people themselves and that each person, individually, assumes the responsibility of taking care of themselves and avoiding predictable conditions.
