Achieving a service of excellence in Public Health is a constant challenge for men and women of the sector in the province of Matanzas.
The benefits, successes and efficiencies of the Cuban system conceived and structured to alleviate and cure the population are indisputable, but there are still behaviors and situations that lacerate its proper functioning.
For example, optimizing the hygiene of the institutions, not only in the morning, but throughout the day, is a problem that, although the patients themselves have in their hands the possibility and the duty to take care of it, it is the responsibility of those who run these centers.
In the same way, it is necessary that the doctor’s offices and the family nurse keep their doors open at the established time, in addition to ensuring that 70 percent of health problems are resolved in the primary care setting itself. This would reduce the flow of patients in hospitals, an inconvenience that today affects the quality of services.
It is also necessary to improve the treatment in some community pharmacies in Matanzas territory and increase control of the distribution of medicines.
These questions are largely solved by just putting a little effort and love. These are situations that can and should be avoided so that nothing and no one tarnishes one of the best conquests of the Cuban Revolution: public health.
