An event that is inserted in the campaign that began on September 30 on gender violence in any of its manifestations and will continue throughout the year.
The workshop has an attractive program that covers topics such as the Evoluciona campaign, religious fundamentalism in Cuba, the socialization of project results and the challenges of Cuban law in the face of gender-based violence, according to Yoelkis Torres Tápanes, leader of the AfroAtenas project .

In the Capacity Building Workshop for the Exercise of Citizenship: Approaches to Gender Violence, delegates from all over the Island participate and are open to the public because of the importance of these issues for the community.
According to a Cubahora portal survey, despite government and social measures to educate and combat this phenomenon, a large number of people recognize that this problem exists to a greater or lesser extent within our society.
Gender violence is understood as: “Any intentional act or omission based on gender inequalities, which causes physical, psychological, economic, patrimonial and / or sexual damages, causing disrespect for individual rights”
In addition, it can be expressed in various ways such as physical, psychological or emotional, symbolic, economic, sexual heritage, family, school, community social, labor, political, religious, institutional and social communication, among others.
