María del Carmen Concepción González, president of the Commission for Attention to Services of the National Assembly of People’s Power made a visit to the Sol Palmeras hotel in Varadero in order to check how the installation is performing in the phase of new normal in which is the western province of Matanzas.
As published on his Facebook account by Arnaldo Díaz Hiedra, general secretary of the union bureau, in the morning of this Wednesday Concepción González arrived at the hotel in Cubanacán accompanied by María del Carmen Orellana, first deputy minister of the Ministry of Tourism Ivis Fernández Peña, delegate of that body in Matanzas, among other deputies such as Estrella Sánchez Berrío.
During her tour, the assembly official found that the hotel is complying with the provisions of this recovery phase against covid-19, provides services to national tourism and is prepared to receive international tourism, with the arrival of the season winter, Díaz Hiedra reported.
Concepción González expressed that Sol Palmeras is a hotel that honors the indications contained in the biosafety protocols approved by the Ministries of Health and Tourism, and maintains high standards and quality in the provision of services.
The President of the Commission for Attention to Services in the National Assembly of the People Power congratulated on these results to a group that last May 10th celebrated 30 years of its emergence in a leading position in the Cuban hotel industry.
The oldest mixed hotel in Cuba once again deserved the status of Vanguardia Nacional for thirteen consecutive times, the highest emulative category granted by the Cuban Trade Workers Union at the request of the unions.
Converted into a brand inside and outside the country, the facility took advantage of the «stop» imposed by the new coronavirus pandemic Sars-CoV-2 to fix pending and prepare new investments, allowing it to look rejuvenated despite its time of birth .

Concepción González’s visit was made to Sol Palmeras just a few days after the National Assembly of People’s Power, which will meet for the first time virtually.
Under this format, some 225 deputies will meet at the Havana Convention Center, while the rest will do so in their provinces. In this Ordinary Period, four bills will be submitted for approval.
