The Golf Club of Varadero meets this October 26th, 2020 just over two decades of continuous activity. This is the first 18-hole golf course; par 72 in the country, located at kilometer 15 of the Las Morlas highway and was designed by the architect Les Furber, president of the Canadian company Golf Design Services LTD in the style of Robert Trent (Jr.).

It extends over a narrow space of 3.5 km, passing through areas even to the Los Cactus, Tuxpan, Iberostar Bella Costa, Meliá Las Americas, Golf & Suites Resort, Meliá Varadero, Sol Club Palmeras and Sol Club Sirenas-Coral hotels and is located in one of the few strips of Costa Brava on the blue beach.

With spaces that reflect the luxury and the environment of the place, the visitor can taste the prestigious restaurant specialized in French and international cuisine, Certificate of Excellence in Trip Advisor since 2014 and located in the emblematic Xanadú Mansion, declared a National Monument with degree one of conservation since 2013, also known as the Golf Club House of the most important tourist center in Cuba and its nearby gastronomic facilities.

At the beginning of the current peak tourist season, the field shows a renewed image as a result of an investment process carried out by the Tourism Real Estate Agency, the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets and other restoration entities, with the supervision of the Office of the Historian of La Havana

Being the first golf course built in Cuba, after the revolutionary triumph, it was inaugurated in 1999 by Commander José Ramón Fernández, and until today it has more than 750 thousand rounds of games played.

The director of the facility, Jose Tovar Pineda, told Radio 26 that the golf course is included in the promotional packages of international tour operator agencies and that its services are available to hobby-loving markets around the world, offering security guarantees and complacency in them.

Tovar Pineda highlighted that the Sol Meliá hotel group launched two long-distance and remote work modalities from Cuba that include the possibility of enjoying a game of golf. Such attractive offers, together with the heritage values ​​of the place, become a preference in the selection of clients.

The owner also explained that the first stage of restoration of the field has been concluded and the projects are being prepared to begin the second stage, which includes the interior areas.
