Projects related to the use and application of renewable energy sources, food production and the local construction materials, as well as the housing program were among the topics analyzed this November 20th in the municipality of Martí, during the third government visit to Matanzas.
On this occasion, the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, deputy prime minister of Cuba, led the team that visited the Frank País Porcine Company, from the Marti territory.

The day went from the presentation of results, strategies and projects, to the tour of the areas linked to them. Thus, the delegation reached the area where the covered lagoon bio-digester was installed three years ago, which allows, from the processing of liquid and solid waste from the entity’s mass of pigs, to obtain electricity that is delivered by the National Electroenergetic System, organic matter to enrich crop soils and energy for cooking food.
The Hoyo Colorado mill was the second place for the team chaired by Ramiro Valdés to check the reality of a project to substitute diesel consumption for rice straw in the drying of the grain.
With this, a daily saving of 500 liters of fossil fuel is calculated to pay tribute to the economic advancement of the territory.
