The Cubans Raúl Roque Montenegro, Héctor Pedendot Gazmuri and Víctor Manuel Hernández García won awards at the 1st International Open Martial Arts Tournament Mexico 2020, held online.
Roque Montenegro won first place in the Taiji Quan 42 Yang (Empty Hands) modality; In traditional Wushu Long Arms (Shaolin Staff) the instructor Hector Pedendot Gazmuri obtained second place; and in the Empty Hands mode Shaolin Quan (Fist of Shaolin), the student Víctor Manuel Hernández García came first.
The experience allowed the exchange of knowledge and evidence of the willingness and preparation of Cuban practitioners, declared Roque Montenegro, provincial president of Chinese Martial Arts in Matanzas.
Born in the city of rivers and bridges, Raúl Roque Montenegro has been studying martial arts since he was five years old, has numerous national and international recognitions and in this year 2020 he added important achievements such as being part of the VI Hall of Fame Argentina 2020, as well as joining the membership of the International Foundation for Defense and Combat Martial Arts (FIADYC) for its excellence in the She Long Kung Fu Association.
Representatives from 26 countries participated in the I International Open Martial Arts Tournament Mexico 2020, with the aim of uniting the schools, associations, teachers and practitioners of the world and strengthening ties of friendship and cultural exchange.
