In an effort to make Matanzas one of the most productive provinces in Cuba, more than a hundred workers in the territory took part in volunteer work in the areas of the Basic Unit for Cooperative Production (UBPC) Ceiba Mocha, in the city.
More than two hectares of cassava were planted in the morning, a very important contribution to the productive way, explained Alexis Pablo Machado, administrator of the UBPC. «In the midst of this panorama with covid-19 what we need is to produce and this support stimulates cooperative members.
Diógenes López, communicator, expressed that it is an honor to participate in these calls. «Our president has asked us young people to contribute to agricultural activities and being here is confirmation and continuity of the revolutionary process.» This is not the first time that volunteer work has been carried out at the UBPC. Alejandro Jiménez, head of farm 18, confirms that this type of activity advances the sowing and harvesting of various crops.
