Exactly 56 years ago Commander Ernesto Che Guevara created the Union of Raw Material Recovery Companies, also known as the recycling industry in Cuba. At the beginning it would be an idea that was fed by the work of the CDR member and the pioneer activity, but little by little it gained support and added to the state organisms and the residential sector.

The Antonio Guiteras de Matanzas Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) has been stable for some days and maintains its production at 230 megawatts / hour. After the severe damages caused by hurricane Irma, specialists, technicians and workers from all over the country are working to recover the plant that reaches three days of uninterrupted operation.
The province of Matanzas has more than 99 percent of electrical solutions and 56 percent of the complete works from the hydrology sector, members of the Administration Council informed the president of the National Assembly of People’s Power Esteban Lazo Hernández.
