With the enthusiasm that characterizes them and committed to the historical moment that the country is experiencing, the students of the different levels of education in Unión de Reyes will celebrate their day this November 17th.
The great youth festival of the world has already begun in the Russian city of Sochi. This XIX Festival brings together, according to its organizers, about 20 thousand participants from 150 countries and includes activities such as panel discussions, public conferences, sports competitions and diversity of cultural events.
The Cuban delegation to the Ninth World Festival of Youth and Students (1965) was concentrated in the Hotel Comodoro, located in the residential area of Miramar, in Havana. There we received elementary French language classes to communicate with the Algerian population. Lectures were given on the life and customs of that Arab country, information was provided on the revolutionary process and on how the programs of the still-nascent Revolution, led by Commander Fidel Castro Ruz, proceeded.
In these days when we talk so much about the World Youth Festival and the Students I feel much younger and I think that I integrate the Cuban delegation to the great youth event. In my own mind, I was one of the more than one thousand Cuban delegates to the Ninth World Festival, which at that time was designated to be held in Algeria.
