A fruitful and enjoyable exchange held the general secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in the country, Teresa Amarelle Boue, with members of that organization in Varadero. Teresa, who is also a member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party said that FMC has a vital role in our society since federated women care about the community when supporting the elderly people that live alone, children who do not do their homework and when doing prophylactic work to avoid promiscuity and pregnancy in youngters.

Young people from Matanzas against Gender Violence

The Department of Gender at the University of Matanzas, Camilo Cienfuegos headquarters, celebrated the Day Against Gender Violence towards Women and Girls with dissimilar activities. Woven orange flowers were given away to young people as a gift, represented the support to victims of physical and psychological abuse.

Open wings toward freedom

The words come alive and become daggers. Impair your decisions and hinder the search for a way out. There are many women in the world living taht way. Some do not recognize that they are the target of abuse and humiliation, others cover their pain and instead of love, they only receive physical injuries. Despite the strides of society there are still prejudices about women. The manifestations of violence are diverse, they can be subtle and go unnoticed. Generally they are aware of them when they have left significant consequences on the victim.
