Accident victims assisted in hospitals in Matanzas

Three children injured, one of them seriously, now undergoing magnetic resonance studies is the preliminary result of the accident this morning in the province of Mayabeque, in the vicinity of the Bacunayagua bridge between a tanker truck and another one used for passenger transportation.

Other injured people are also being treated in hospitals in the province.
Dr. Julio Hernández Sánchez, director of the pediatric hospital Eliseo Noel Caamaño, in the city of Matanzas, said that the three patients are receiving medical attention:

Nayeis González Villamil, ten years old, in Intensive Care, with severe cranial trauma, under the action of the hospital’s intensivist team; Estefany González Villamil, 13 years old, in the orthopedics room, without life-threatening care and Harly Romero Cruz, seven years old, without life-threatening danger, in the miscellaneous room of the Yumurina health institution.

Dr. Julio Hernandez says that a multidisciplinary team is attending little Nayleis Gonzalez Villamil, in critical condition.
At the Faustino Pérez hospital, eight injured persons were received and shortly Dr. Taymí Martínez will give first hand details, although deaths are reported.

So far the balance is two dead and three in serious condition, including a girl with life-threatening injuries.

From the Comandante Faustino Pérez hospital in Matanzas, Dr. Taymí Martínez Naranjo, director of the hospital, said that eight people were injured in the traffic accident that took place in the morning near Bacunayagua, in Mayabeque province.

The specialist said that four of them were classified as code red and two of them died in the emergency care unit.
There are currently six hospitalized, two people remain in the intermediate care ward with a report of serious and stable condition, and the same number are in the hospital with a report of care and two are under observation.
