Suchel-Jovel greeted Fidel’s 97th birthday.
To salute the 97th anniversary of the birth of the eternal Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz (Birán, Holguín, 13-8-1926, Havana 25-11-2016), the Suchel-Jovel Base Business Unit (UEB) chose the most convenient way for the economy.
They mobilized workers and started up their machines last weekend to promote essential items of hygiene and cleanliness, distributed by the basic food basket.
In productive work days, they manufactured about eleven tons of liquid detergent, seven tons of toilet soap and hundreds of plastic containers, «the best gift for our Fidel», they disclosed on the UEB’s Facebook page.
According to the publication, they also carried out cleaning and beautification of the premises, actions extended to the Casita Infantil Zapaticos Blancos, the second of its kind to operate in this province.
The only manufacturer of liquid detergent in the country is accustomed to give a response of this nature, a performance which last year earned it the superior category of Vanguardia Nacional and this year that of Victory Collective, the latter granted by the National Union of Industrial Workers.
With the Ministry of Domestic Trade as its main client, Suchel-Jovel is responsible for manufacturing 30 percent of the soap distributed in the standardized family basket and as part of its diversification it is already successfully inserted in the retail trade of TRD and CIMEX.
In this central municipality, other collectives imitated UEB Suchel-Jovel and paid tribute to Fidel from the field, especially in the Arturo Suárez Agricultural Production Cooperative.
The productive work was carried out in a place visited by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, where in a simple ceremony new militants received their Party and Young Communist League membership cards.
Hours before, all of them had contributed to the planting of more than 2.2 hectares of sugar cane, a tribute repeated in other of the thirteen municipalities of this province, so many times visited by Fidel, and where he went in difficult times such as during cyclones or to lead the fight for the return of the child Elian, kidnapped for seven months in the United States, until the victorious return of the little boy from Cardenal on June 28th, 2000.
