Jovellanos celebrates July 26th.
A few hours before celebrating the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks on July the 26th, Jovellanenses gathered at the Unidad Empresarial de Base Apícola Matanzas, the entity that won the venue of the municipal event on the occasion of this celebration, given its results in the special emulation Multiplicarnos por la Victoria (Multiply for Victory).
The member of the Bureau of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Norma Llerena Pérez, accompanied by the highest authorities of the territory, arrived at this venue to ratify the commitment with the homeland and honor the rebelliousness, courage and revolutionary convictions of those who did not let the Apostle die in the year of his centenary.
The occasion was a propitious scenario to deliver the card that accredits as new militants of the Young Communist League and our glorious Party to an important number of good sons of this land, as well as to recognize the organizations that marched in the vanguard group in the fraternal emulation for the headquarters of the activities of July 26th.
On behalf of the Municipal Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, its first secretary in Jovellanos, Edgar Ferrera Correa, conveyed the most sincere congratulations to the collectives recognized for their results, to the militants who join the ranks of our Party and the Union of Young Communists, as well as to the athletes of the territory who represented us in the recently concluded Twenty-fourth Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.
Aware that the assault on the barracks of Santiago de Cuba and Bayamo were not an isolated event in our history, the people of Jovellan once again denounced the intensification of the blockade, the increase in enemy aggressiveness, as well as, in the words of the secretary himself «… we reaffirm that any strategy that seeks to destroy the Revolution, whether through coercion and pressure or by resorting to subtle methods, will fail…».
