Machado Ventura evaluates progress of agricultural programs in Jovellanos.

Rebel Army Commander José Ramón Machado Ventura, on a working visit to this municipality, evaluated on Monday the progress of the sowing, production and commercialization of medicinal plants, an important agricultural program to which special attention is paid taking into account the current situation in Cuba with regard to the availability of certain drugs.

Machado Ventura visited the areas of the medicinal plants farm, belonging to the Urban Farm Business Unit of the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Agricultural Enterprise, where in a pleasant exchange with its directors and workers he learned about what is being done in terms of planting, production and commercialization.

He also visited the Apiculture Business Unit of Matanzas, an entity that stands out for its results within this guild at national level. In its areas, he was able to verify in a concrete and precise way what has been done in order to consolidate the achievements, as well as the productive goals for the collection and commercialization of the products obtained from this important activity for the national and international markets.

In both production units, the exchange with the workers prevailed, who at all times professed remarkable signs of affection, respect and admiration for the revolutionary leader.

Machado was accompanied by the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in Matanzas, Susely Morfa González, and Marieta Poey Zamora, deputy provincial governor, together with the main authorities of this central territory, as well as leaders of Agriculture and other sectors.
