Velasco-Louvre hotel complex performance praised.

The excellent operational moment of the Velasco-Louvre hotel complex arouses the admiration of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in Matanzas, satisfied by the high demand for the services offered by the Cubanacán facility.

Occupancy and income indicators have grown so much that they have already surpassed the figures for 2019, the benchmark for being the year prior to the start of Covid-19 and the pandemic causing the mandatory stoppage in the world travel industry.

Ibia Betancourt, sub-delegate of the MINTUR in this western province, pondered the performance of the tourist complex, which «marks the takeoff of the sector in Matanzas,» she considered, when evaluating the optimum 2023 for the Velasco-Louvre, unique in these E-brand properties, the so-called Encanto hotels.

Betancourt was satisfied with the participation of managers and workers in the Saturday nights Atenas, where they make available to the people of Matanzas various offers.

In a meeting with the press, Yanelys Peñate, the general director of the complex, referred to the leading role played by the outbound markets such as Germany, Italy and also Spain, which has favored the high growth in occupancy rates.

Peñate highlighted the professionalism of the employees, their good practices and the sense of belonging, values that were put very high, he said, in August last year, when the Velasco hosted the relatives of the victims of the accident at the Supertanker Base.

She referred to the added values to a tourist product that will gain attractiveness with the investment underway in the site where Domingo del Monte’s house used to be, a building that will have nine rooms, a hairdressing salon, manicure and podiatry services, as well as a spa.

Peñate pondered the actions to be incorporated to the services: the sweet bakery, which will be located in the place formerly occupied by the El Águila bakery, which will make it possible to resume the production of pastries and bread, something that the people of Matanzas yearn for, accustomed as they were to buying the delicious sweets sold at the Velasco.

The hotel complex takes full advantage of the competitive advantage of being located in the very center of the capital city of Matanzas, a position it takes advantage of to link up with the local market in several ways.
