Aldabón’s Editions’ proposals for this year.
With the 32nd International Book Fair at the gates and a year that promises new ones for young writers from Matanzas, the work of Ediciones Aldabón is intensifying through close ties with the Provincial Center for Books and Literature, as expressed by the director of the publishing house, Daniel Cruz Bermúdez, in an interview with this newspaper:
«Our publishing house for the current year increases its creative perspectives with the appearance of fixed spaces within the institution itself, among these the upcoming opening of the Aldabón Café. It will be a support service for the commercialization of books and literary activities, to which is added the possibility for authors to sign their notebooks to the attendees and for free reading of texts.
«We are adding the Aldabón Auction space, with a bimonthly frequency; we will also promote La Hora de Aldabón (The Aldabón Hour), on a monthly basis, together with another moment we call La marca de Cajín, of science fiction, conducted by Náthaly Hernández and Raúl Piad.
«In addition to the usual Los Grafómanos and the workshop of the written décima Con tus ojos míos, which have an established and enthusiastic public.»
Ediciones Aldabón will celebrate the Cuban Book Day, the Spanish Language Day, the anniversary of the Territorial Editions System, together with its days motivated by the Aldabón Prize, Eliecer Lazo Prize contests, plus the presentations of books just published.
One of the main objectives of Aldabón will be to expand to a greater number of communities in order to promote the reading of the youth literary movement.
For the first time, Aldabón announced that at the 32nd Havana Book Fair, to be held from the 15th to the 25th of this month, they will have a stand in Morro-Cabaña together with Ediciones Matanzas and on the 21st the authors of the published books will be in the Cuba Pavilion.
At the Yumurina Festival of Letters, from March 6th to 10th, they intend to magnify the presence of the creators towards attractive and novel points of contact with the readers.
