Imagination , color, tenderness and puppets took over the Matanzas city since last Saturday with the start of the eleventh annual International Puppet Theatre Workshop , which will be extended to other cities of Matanzas and regions until April27th.
The official inauguration of the most important event of the performing arts in the island came in the Saturday night at the newly renovated movie theater scene Velasco.
Pieces of Autumn, the magnificent spectacle of the American group Standglass Theater, served as opening the event and proved that language is not a barrier to culture. Deserved applause and cheers filled the room movie theater Velasco.
Santana René Fernández , President of the Organizing Committee, opened the event and praised the coincidence in Matanzas, the International Puppet Workshop , created 20 years , and holding for the first time in Latin America , the Council of the International Union of Puppetry ( UNIMA ) .
