Matanzas fine artists involved in the A todo color (Full color) project for life aims to strengthen the collaboration with the centers of homeless children and cancer patients in the world, and spread a message about the preservation of the environment, in coordination with specialists of the Republic of Ecuador, experience seeking to extend the rest of Latin America.

Solidarity Sailors

Despina Andrianna the Greek ship was christened with a logo of solidarity for the cause of the Five in Matanzas port. By initiative of Sharalampos Vorrea, who is the representative of the owner of the ship and the crew was placed the claim: Freedom for the Five next to the ship name for being one of the most visible areas.

Living Museum in the Scenic Memory House

The Scenic Memory House hosted from 22nd to 24th this month, the Living interpretation in museums course, taught by professors Cynthia L. Vidaurri and Paul Gardullo, from the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Smithsonian Institution, as part of the of Olokun project, a collaboration between La Ruta del Esclavo National Museum in the San Severino Castle, and the Archeology office of the Havana´ Historian.

From Africa to Matanzas

Among the proposals approved in Matanzas this year in order to boost tourism in town is the Ateneo de la Rumba , a program, that is part of the AfroAtenas megaproject. It inserts among its priorities the diffusion of Afro-Cuban roots from religious and cultural expressions of the people and it aims the integral development and urban intervention in the community of Pueblo Nuevo, which is the neighborhood where it lies.
