The Scenic Memory House hosted from 22nd to 24th this month, the Living interpretation in museums course, taught by professors Cynthia L. Vidaurri and Paul Gardullo, from the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Smithsonian Institution, as part of the of Olokun project, a collaboration between La Ruta del Esclavo National Museum in the San Severino Castle, and the Archeology office of the Havana´ Historian.
The course is given by specialists from various institutions in the province of Matanzas, including La Ruta del Esclavo National Museum , Palacio de Junco Museum , the Pharmaceutical Museum, the Art Museum and Morillo Museum.
The course ended with an interesting 24 proposed practice where specialists–students boarded interesting examples related to their institutions, demonstrating the quality of the samples of the Matanzas museums.
Other Activities of the Scenic Memory House
The Scenic Memory House also conducted several activities this month, on the 15th the Memorias Space recalled the 30th anniversary of the Miron Cubano theater, with a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the actor and artistic director of this group, Francisco Rodriguez Cabrera (Pancho) and the inauguration of a sample collected and recognition of unique moments of the first graduates of the Art Institute superios that has remained continuously in Matanzas group.
On the 17 th the House came with its Corazón Guamacaro Km. 9 project (provincial Culture Prize Community) for Limonar town with artists from various demonstrations that provided ten workshops related to music appreciation, visual arts, storytelling stage, improvisation and knowledge of Cuban tenth, museum and historic values of Limonar and literary appreciation. In the final activity acted the solo Reynaldo Montalvo, the storyteller and writer Loreley Rebull repentistas and several poets, accompanied by outstanding musicians of the genre.
On Friday 19th was submitted in the Municipal Forum of Science and Technique the Work: Proposal for a file of the Cuban scene, the playwright and director of the institution Ulises Rodríguez Febles, which reflects his experience as head of the institution where it is stored, protected and disseminated Cuban scenic memory and also theoretical and practical estimates for a space where the scenic heritage of the island defend itself.
Our institution will also be present in Danzandos Choreography and Performance Contest , to be held in Matanzas from October the 2nd to 5th to, with two exhibitions, one dedicated to the master Ramiro Guerra and his presence in Matanzas event and four Memorias spaces.
In the Estorino Hall of our institution which is Member of the American Red Archives, will be done the dismantling of the works submitted to the Cuban dancing contest , who leads the Danza Espiral Company .
