Las Morlas Square: a place for culture

This modern square, which is located in the context of the Marina Gaviota Varadero Complex is called by many to be the space to convene the best of the Cuban culture, because it promotes multiple forms attached to the roots and identity of the nation.

With the sea as protagonist Las Morlas Square, which opened in last February , presents a novel architecture, a  decoration of  the Spanish artist Julio Maestre Junior  and is focused to a medium-high segment within the tourism sector.

In more than five thousand square meters coexist specialty restaurants, shops, craftsmen outlets artists a Jazz Café and Music Hall, enclosure with high-tech equipment and wonderful scenery through which they passed and Aragon Orchestra , Ivette Cepeda, Haila,  Amado Valdes with Buena Vista Social Club and Leoni Torres, among others.

Since opening to date thousands of visitors tasted the coffee is roasted, ground and strained before their eyes at La Isabelica, which takes the name of the famous nineteenth-century coffee plantation in Santiago de Cuba.

According to Diógenes Roque Pentón, director of the facility, in the months of July and August the Plaza had the largest public attendance and Cubans were the most among those present to enjoy the site along with English, Spanish, Venezuelans, Mexicans, Argentineans and Dutch.
