Strengthening actions that reflect, the preventive and educational work as well as the care of females developed by the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in Matanzas province is one of the purposes of the organization to once again join the National Day of Non-Violence against Women, established on November 25th, 1999 by the United Nations.
A discussion organized by the FMC and performed with housewives, unrelated females of the study and employment of the rural community workers Wiliam Soler, municipality of Jagüey Grande, was the inaugural activity of the day in the territory, and previous years will run until December 10, established as International Human Rights Day.
According to the report by the provincial secretariat of the organization these areas of analysis and debate on gender violence taking place in other blocks and federated delegations identified as most member complexity. They also performed in the context of the campaign shifts refexión included in the training programs of the Houses of Orientation to Women (COMF) and existing in all localities family.

The closing of the day will be provided by the FMC of the municipality of Columbus, who on the occasion of the December 10th World Human Rights Day, will carry out various initiatives to show the achievements of Cuba in terms of equality rights, possibilities and opportunities gained by women.
Similar activities will take place that day in the rest of Matanzas locations to the end of the campaign, also conducive to promoting actions for prevention and help promote respect and tolerance in families, fundamental cell of society.
The Constitution and numerous laws assure equality of women and protect the family in our country, but the abuse is perpetrated in the privacy of the home is not always reported or included in the statistics. That is why not a few specialists legal regulations against gender violence and not the mere improvement of legislation considered necessary.
