Starts Exercise Bastion in Central Strategic Region

In that context, Major General Raúl Rodríguez Lobaina, head of the Central Army, stated that the tactical task of that command prepared them successfully and with a high disposition of the forces and means to carry out the missions of the Bastion.

In the exercise the territories of Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus and Ciego de Avila intervene with all their Provincial Defense Councils and the Working Groups.

During the day the work of the Defense Council of Matanzas was appraised where the missions were punctuated to maintain the internal order before the subversive activity of the enemy as part of the unconventional war.

As a culmination of the first day of the Strategic Exercise, an expression of the military doctrine of the All People’s War, practical actions were taken with young people from the higher education centers involved in the University Bastion.

Bastion is heir to the richest traditions of struggle and study of Cuban military art; Treasures the whole spirit of resistance, heroism and rebellion, since the wars of independence of the nineteenth century.

The days of this exercise in the Matanzas territory will confirm the unbreakable faith in the victory, which witnessed the last stage of the gestation for the definitive independence, led by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and of which the protagonists have been protagonists.
