Before 2030 it is predicted to exceed 600 hectares of tobacco and expand the sowing to other territories because of its importance in the economy, added the manager.
This work is currently carried out in the municipalities of Pedro Betancourt, Jovellanos and Los Arabos, where at the end of 2017 will exceed 80 hectares for tillage.
Gradually, the crop will be extended to the municipalities of Unión de Reyes, Colón, Martí and Calimete, Ángel Pérez reported.
The Tobacco in Matanzas is sown in houses of capping and stands out for its high quality, reason why it is destined mainly to the export.
