The Esperanza Awards Provincial Day 2017, aimed at the response against HIV / AIDS began in Matanzas on Tuesday, August 1st and will run until September 30th, according to Pablo Omar Milián Valle, a specialist in the STI / HIV / AIDS program in the territory.
During this period, the work of individuals, agencies, organizations and entities that stand out in the work of prevention and solidarity towards those living with HIV will be recognized. The Mutual Aid Award will also be awarded to people with HIV who excel at supporting others with the same HIV status.
The day also includes the development of competitions, socialization activities, actions with the community, recognitions and other initiatives that focus on the eradication of myths, taboos, stigmas and prejudices that due to disinformation linger in the social imaginary.
Esperanza 2017 Awards in Matanzas aims to raise the perception of risk and severity that sexually active people have in relation to STIs.
