Mi Mundo, the first phonogram of the Cuban percussionist Brenda Navarrete, is a “sui generis” proposal in which the Cuban rhythms of the African matrix with jazz, son and rumba are a dialogue.
In a recent visit to the yumrino territory, the talented artist told Radio 26 that the project was conceived at PM Records, under the Canadian label Alma Records. The plate offers a contemporary vision of genres and musical styles that transcend in time without neglecting the exquisiteness and legitimacy of pure and authentic sound.
To the call of the disc Mi Mundo came from musicians of tried quality that prestige the sound panorama of Cuba like the drummer Rodney Barreto; the trombonist Eduardo Sandoval; the percussionist Adonis Panter, director of the Ozaín del Monte rumba group ; the pianist Rolando Luna and the multi instrumentalist Alain Pérez.
The first record production by Cuban percussionist Brenda Navarrete, winner of the Drum Festival in 2010 in the category of best female performance, is already a reality that falls in love from the traditional to the modern.
