Yesterday, the XVII El Anaquel Performing Arts Scientific Event was held as part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the House of Scenic Memory, an institution that is a fundamental source for scholars, researchers, historians, students and creators of the universe of theater that seek to acquire information, develop some type of data search and references, with professional precision.
In its centers, approximately 20,000 materials are collected, including books, diverse documents, videos, archives of voices and varied publications on stage shows in Matanzas, Cuba and the world. The jury of El Anaquel was integrated by Omar Valiño Cedré, director of the magazine Tablas Alarcos; Norge Céspedes and María Eugenia Romero.
The awarded works were: Contemporary Cuban Dramaturgy, mirror of an island that tells its story, by Héctor Alejandro Rivero Díaz, from the University of Matanzas; Relationship between the House of Scenic Memory and local human development, by Marién Espinosa Rodríguez; and the documentary Con el alma en la suitta, dedicated to Amado del Pino, renowned theatrist and Cuban theater critic, with script and direction by Alejandro Palomino, artistic director of Vital Teatro.
Awards were also given to the workers featured on this 25th anniversary of the House of Scenic Memory and the Wall of Phrases was inaugurated in the Vague Rumors yard.
