The Radio Station of your Heart from Matanzas, Cuba

Recall terrorist actions against tourism at the Sol Palmeras hotel.

Year after year the workers of Sol Palmeras reject the orchestrated terrorist act against the first mixed Cuban hotel.

Gathered in a special morning, workers at the Sol Palmeras hotelin Varadero,  rejected the terrorist attack that occurred in this facility 22 years ago, when the explosion of a bomb could have cost the lives of several employees and guests of that facility, founded on May 10th, 1990.

In the presence of the directors of the center and workers from different areas, Arnaldo Díaz Hiedra, general secretary of the Trade Union Bureau, recalled the vile made on August 23rd, 1997, date of the C-4 explosion of more than 65 grams, placed near the lobby, in a hallway that leads to several rooms.

The union leader reiterated the contempt of what he considered a genocidal act, aimed at stopping the triumphant march of the Cuban leisure industry.

In his speech, Díaz Hiedra recalled that hatred for this hotel, the result of the first mixed company that emerged in Cuba, had also manifested in 1995, when they discovered a bomb that did not explode.

He said that as in 1997, he was placed by a man hired and financed by Luis Posada Carriles and the Cuban American National Foundation, based in Miami.

In the morning the foundation was also remembered, precisely one day like today, of Cuban Women Federation (FMC), an organization to which the workers of a hotel belong where they represent 44 percent of the workforce.

Founded by Fidel Castro Ruz, the Sol Palmeras hotel has been a Vanguardia Nacional for ten consecutive years, the high emulative category granted by Cuban Women Federation (CTC), awards to which the Proeza Laboral flag and the 75th Anniversary seal are attached of the foundation of the CTC.

Canadians, Germans, English, Argentines, French are included in the list of the main foreign markets, visitors seduced by the quality in the provision of services and the star work of the staff of a collective where almost one hundred percent of the workers express their I wish to continue working in this installation.

Since the same triumph of the Cuban Revolution (January 1st, 1959), counterrevolutionary elements supported by the United States government undertook terrorist actions against Cuba, which until this year threw a balance of more than three thousand 478 dead and two thousand 99 disabled, in addition to countless economic damages.
