Praise Minister of Construction quality of works of Varadero.

The constructive quality exhibited by the works of this tourist destination was highlighted by René Mesa Villafaña, Cuban head of the Ministry of Construction (MICONS), during the commemoration for the three decades of the constitution of the contingent Heroes of Playa de Girón, championed by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, on September 25, 1989.

Mesa Villafaña highlighted the improvement experienced by Varadero builders in terms of quality and execution deadlines, as a result of the improvement of recent years

“It’s not that everything is resolved,” said the Minister. “We must continue to increase the use of new technologies to achieve greater productivity,” he told reporters.

He mentioned the International Hotel as a more recent example of the role played by the almost four thousand white helmets of the spa, some of which build the work of the Oasis, organized, he considered, to do it in the plotted time.

Chaired by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, first secretary of the provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Matanzas, on the festivities for the emergence of the contingent Heroes of Playa Girón, current Brigade Construction of Architectural Works (BCOA) number 47, was delivered to this group the 80th anniversary seal of the constitution of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) and was received individually by eight of its members.

A very emotional moment was the recognition of Enrique Horta García, founding director of the Héroes de Playa Girón contingent, and the workers participating in that historic flag, 22 of which are active in the BCOA 47 itself.   Participants in the event repudiated the resurgence of the blockade and the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act and said they were not overcome by difficult circumstances.

The meeting was also attended by Osmar Ramírez Ramírez, general secretary of the CTC in Matanzas, and Tania León Silveira, president of the provincial Assembly of People’s Power, among other political, union and party leaders.
