The Provincial Defense Council in Matanzas, chaired by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, evaluated this Friday the measures to be adopted in the Information Phase in the face of the threat of the tropical depression Eta to protect the lives of the population and the resources of the economy.

Izquierdo Alonso called to ensure the protection of the population in the areas of possible floods and to move more than 30 thousand head of cattle to safe sites, while indicating the collection of productions, their distribution and minimize the impacts of this phenomenon on the Agriculture.

Marixma Miyares, director of the Matanzas Meteorological Center, offered details to the Council on the forecasting models with the rainfall variables that accompany the current tropical depression and its possible trajectory.

The energy, water, food and transport groups of the Defense Council, in Matanzas, adopt the measures for the return to land of the fishing crews, the scholarship students to their homes and the transfer of resources.
