The workers of the sugar industry in the province are immersed in the 2020-2021 harvest. On the progress of the industrial process and its complexities, Orlando Vandrell Cuello, deputy director of the Matanzas Sugar Company, told Radio 26.

He added to the manager that this is the optimal time for the harvest until spring begins, which is when yields drop. Three industries are involved in the 2020-2021 harvest in Matanzas: the Central Jesús Rabí, in the municipality of Calimete; the Mexico mill, located in Colón and the Mario Muñoz, defined as the colossus of Los Arabos. This last industry is the one that produces the refined sugar of the western zone from biomass.
