The Collections Studies workshop, sponsored by the Provincial Heritage Center in Matanzas, awarded the best investigations of the samples of the month and temporary exhibitions that took place in the last three years, in an online event held at the Palacio de Junco museum in Matanzas city.
In the contest, organized by the methodological center of the aforementioned museum, 26 works were received, which included the objects selected for scientific analysis; their contributions to their origin, history; composition within collections; acquisition of donations and quality of catalogs, as well as activities conceived for their exhibitions and follow-up in the community.
In conversation with Yaisel Feria Sigas, communicator of the Provincial Heritage Center, she detailed the awarded works: Six prizes were awarded to the research From natural to art and Women in African art, presented by the Matanzas Art Museum; Faithful companion in the exercise of criteria, of the Oscar María de Rojas museum; Periqueños against the blockade, from the Perico museum; Carreras, the hero pilot of Playa Girón, from the Girón museum; and Carilda, friendship and poets, from the Junco Palace.
“Likewise, five mentions were awarded to: Gloves of a Champion, by Oscar María de Rojas; Chinese in Martí. The story told through an abacus, from the Marti museum; A sabotage that could have mourned an entire town, of the Perico museum; Donguera, a glorious page, from the Triumvirate museum; and Las Peñas Literarias in Matanzas, from the provincial museum. » The jury was made up of Lourdes Núñez, Principal Heritage Specialist; Camelia Domínguez, specialist in Overcoming and Preparation of Paintings; and Olga Lidia González, director of the provincial museum.
