The campaign for the 60th anniversary of Words to Intellectuals, a speech by the Commander-in-Chief on June 30th, 1961, burst into force in Matanzas with the realization of more than 90 cultural activities that will last until the end of the year.
On the occasion of Cuban Book Day, this movement will begin, which has motivations as important as the six decades since the victory of Playa Girón and the founding of the UNEA, plus the 35th of the Hermanos Saíz Association, among others.
In relation to these ephemeris linked to the historic events of April, Noslen González, member of the Provincial Directorate of Culture, highlighted in a special way the most relevant and, in a press conference, reported on the schedule:
“The performance on April 14 and 15 of the Korimacao group with the shows Notes of the Soul and Homeland in its amphitheater in the Ciénaga de Zapata plus the dissertation of a panel on Cultural Policy of the Cuban Revolution at the Casa de la Memoria Escénica, the day 15.f
“The organization on Saturday 16th of the Literary Crusade for this Freedom stands out, an initiative of the Provincial Center for Book and Literature with the subsidiaries of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and the Hermanos Saíz Association in Matanzas, where 12 writers will be Matanzas who will reissue the passage of the Cuban troops.
“They will leave from the old Militia School in Matanzas to the Playa Girón museum, where a plaque will be delivered with poems dedicated to that significant event that led to the defeat of imperialism and became the victory of the Cuban people. In a particular way, the Sol de Oro Children’s Audiovisual Festival stands out on the various digital platforms, from April 16th to 18th, organized by the Municipal Directorate of Culture in Cárdenas and the Provincial Film Center with the aim of showing materials made by girls and boys.
