The story of Kevin Estupiñán and covid-19 is very peculiar. The young university professor volunteered his services in the isolation center of the University of Matanzas. The reasons for being there went beyond a simple act of bravery.
His sister and his mother were positive for the new coronavirus, so the disease happened to be a mere slogan and invaded the family tranquility. They have certain illnesses that put them at a disadvantage and that unquestionably disturbed Kevin. But there in the isolation center the boys and girls pampered them and became a spiritual staff for their family. So Kevin looked for the best way to thank.
“Thank you for what you do, you fill hundreds of families with joy, there is no task as noble, risky and great as this. I am very proud of you for showing your face and being at the forefront, showing that youth is not lost.
They are very valuable, thank you for being so great and for taking great care of my mother, who by the way thanks you for everything you have done for her … I am very proud to have friends as exaggeratedly spectacular as you guys, your heart really doesn’t fit in your chest !!! “
These words became fact when Kevin made a promise. If they got over the disease, he would go to the red zone.

Through Adrián Mirabal, he did all the coordination. Friends called him crazy, Kevin deep down was scared.
When he arrived on day zero he was restless and desperate he met a family: Maureen, Adrián, Mavy …
The exhausting days, as he describes them, served him to grow. The good vibes of that team plus the synergy with the medical team made that stage one of the best experiences of his life.
“He would come back in again every day of this life as long as the pandemic exists.”
