Daniel Santos Cobián, Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba, defines himself at 69 as a man of few words because the meaning of his life is always to lead by example.
In the Matanzas Electric Company he worked for 48 years as a reader-collector and supervisor of that entity, in the municipality of Unión de Reyes, the land where people know Santos Cobián.
The Hero resides in the town of Alacranes and his other passion is teaching young people what he learned in life, although he recognizes that he takes time as president to maintain the activism of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) Freddy Paneque, in the Zone 15.
“For a Hero of Labor there is no rest,” says Santos Cobián, who prepares his initiatives for this May Day to defend Cuba from his little piece in the neighborhood where he so many times read the meters and thousands of pesos passed through his hands for the charging for electricity.
Daniel Santos Cobián is the pride of the people from Matanzas in the National Union of Energy and Mines, an example for the new generations for his role in the harvest of the town, the formation of a home and the education of his daughters and grandchildren. His colleagues from the Basic Electrical Organization consider Santos a tireless worker, a simple man, of few words when it comes to maintaining results in the Company where he worked for almost half a century with satisfactory results.
When contacting him by phone at his home in Alacranes, he affirmed that he continues as a soldier of the Revolution to fulfill the agreements of the Party Congress from his own piece because #JuntosHacemosCuba.
