Organization of the health intervention in Matanzas continues .

The anticovid-19 vaccination campaign will begin, on a massive scale, in correspondence with the availability of the drug and the complete certification of the 300 vaccinations planned in the municipalities of Matanzas, Cárdenas and Colón, as was known at the meeting of the Provincial Defense Council , in which the start of the health operation with people over 60 years of age and the inclusion after the rest of the ages and territories was ratified.

Around 30 thousand Matanzas belonging to the health system, tourism, aviation, customs and transportation have already been vaccinated.

In the presence of  Liván Izquierdo and Mario Sabines, president and vice president of the governing body, respectively, Dr. Ailuj Casanova Barreto, provincial director of Health, reported on the visit of a MINSAP commission, which analyzed compliance with the protocols.

In the analysis, it was determined to proceed with the inventories of equipment that ensure the cold chain required by the vaccine, with a view to guaranteeing a process that begins at 7:00 in the morning and ends twelve hours later. Likewise, it is necessary to complete some supplies such as thermometers and sphygmomanometers that do not yet exist in their entirety in the areas.

It is worth noting that the municipality of Colón leads the way in achieving these requirements, followed by Cárdenas and Matanzas in last place. They also insisted on the extreme training of the personnel involved, taking into account the maximum responsibility of the Health sector in the success of this process.

To this end, it works with a lot of comprehensiveness and intersectorality with the fundamental support in the areas of Health and vaccinations. The creation of the lists of personnel that guarantee the campaign, Liván Izquierdo indicated, should provide substitutes for any eventuality. There is also the absolute support of the Government and the Party, the Popular Councils, their presidents, delegates and mass organizations.

The health intervention demands that, after a medical appointment and check-up, every one hour ten patients be immunized. In the case of those bedridden or bedridden patients, who cannot go to the doctor’s office, a schedule is also planned in which the basic Health team goes to the home to apply the vaccine candidate.

It was also announced that a dynamic test would be carried out at the end of this month and that hygienic measures to avoid contagion be maintained as an important element to combat the spread of the pandemic.
