More than 27 thousand people over 60 years of age from the municipalities of Matanzas, Cárdenas and Colón received this Monday the first dose of the vaccine candidate Abdala as part of the actions to confront Covid-19.
At the meeting of the temporary work group of Matanzas province , many deficiencies that hindered the good performance of the health intervention were analyzed, mainly in the capital city.
The marked delay in the distribution of the product, the inadequate tempering of the thermos that would receive the bulbs and the inactivity and outdated of some positions, marked the day.
Similarly, there was difficulty with the transport of health personnel to the medical offices and with the distribution and quality of food for those who were dependent on the elderly.
Nothing and no one can cloud this process that has cost so much effort and dedication, said Mario Sabines Lorenzo, governor of Matanzas. The commitment and delivery of the factors involved in the task must be redoubled, said the leader.
For his part, Liván Izquierdo Alonso, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in Matanzas, explained that now more than ever the staff of the clinics must link with the community to investigate and identify possible infections of the pandemic.
Greater organization and resolution should distinguish the health intervention with the vaccine candidate Abdala this Tuesday in Matanzas, always with extreme control of compliance with health measures to avoid contagion of covid-19.
