Social isolation, collective responsibility to face the outbreak of Covid .

With a call for social isolation, the meeting of the Temporary Working Group to face Covid-19 in the province of Matanzas began on Monday.

On the previous day, the molecular biology laboratory of Matanzas territory processed about three thousand samples, a number that increases in correspondence with the high rate of existing infections.

This fourth outbreak maintains 4,400 people admitted and more than two thousand active cases located in hospitals and isolation centers equipped for medical assistance.

At the meeting, Mario Sabines Lorenzo, Governor of Matanzas, explained that the wineries and cafeterias should be kept open all day at their usual hours to avoid crowds.

In the same way, he exhorted the population to maintain discipline and stay at home. Faced with urgent need, only one person should leave the house, preferably the one with the least suffering.

Unfortunately, in the province there are one hundred and fifty children infected with Covid-19, of them thirty-five under one year of age and the same number of pregnant women positive for the virus.

Ailuj Casanova Barreto, director of public health, reported the arrival in Matanzas of regulators and manometers to ventilate seriously and critically ill patients, as well as digital thermometers and pulse oximeters.

She also affirmed that in the polyclinics new  firs care units are created that allow better and greater attention to the sick and that PCR and antigen tests are guaranteed.
