With the text Palabras de Canje, the young Holguin writer Erian Peña Pupo emerged today as the winner of the 2021 America Bobia Annual Poetry Prize awarded by Vigía Editions, an institution dedicated to the creation of manufactured books based in the city of Matanzas.
Leymen Pérez, president of the jury, argued that the decision is based on the narrative density of the volume that dialogues with the most immediate ontological reality and on the existence in its evolution, a proposal that forms a universe of great dramaturgical efficacy.
Among 38 representative poems of the literary work of authors of different generations in various provinces of the Greater Antilles, Words of Exchange stood out for mixing the elements of strong experiential support with a peculiar philosophical perspective on the foundation of the terms and the poetic fact in itself.
