The delagates that do not get together

The very day on which the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power (APPP) got together in Matanzas to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its first constitution, July 21st, 1974, delegates discussed the results of the Third Process of Accountability to Voters, an event that usually happens without pain or glory in Cuban society.

Another first in Matanzas

On January the 1st,1959 Batista dictatorship fell and Fidel convened the revolutionary general strike to consolidate the victory. The Cuban people obeyed the call from East to West and the nation was completely shut down until the revolutionary victory was assured. That is, in our view, the biggest vote that has been held in Cuba in its republican history, the people united in a single party and a single candidate: The Revolution.

Important step for the Revolution

Special recognition was conferred on Monday night to leader Fidel Castro Revolution and the First Party Secretary and President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Army General Raul Castro, as architects of the creation of the People’s Power , which began with an experience in the province of Matanzas, in 1974, and then spread to the rest of the country in 1976.

That much that can be achieved with the popular contest, what people can bring if they are correctly call , and it is included in the decision taking process, had in Matanzas its climax four decades ago with the decision of choosing it as a lab of the complex politicaand social l exercise that involved the creation of the Organs of People’s Power.
