Meliá Cuba Golf Cup concludes in Varadero.
The 14th edition of the Meliá Cuba Golf Cup concludes on October 21st, after four days of competitions since its beginning on the 18th at this famous beach, considered the second best in the world.
More than 120 competitors, mainly Canadians, competed in Par 3 and Long Drive (the longest shot) to liven up one of the most entertaining tournaments of the year, said Taimí Masiel Vidal Alfonso, community manager at the Meliá Las Américas hotel, where the participants are staying.
The specialized event offers the opportunity to alternate the enjoyment of the sport in the 18 holes of the best green of the country and the charms of the main sun and beach destination of the largest of the Antilles, said Vidal Alfonso.
The Cup is held at the Varadero Golf Club, a narrow stretch parallel to the beach of more than 60 hectares, with playing areas, forests of native vegetation and lagoons, which makes it a scenario of enormous attraction.
In addition to testing the competitive level of the contestants, the event becomes a meeting point for friends from various nations who look forward to meeting each year on the golf course and at the Meliá Las Américas.
The 18-hole, par 72 course is divided into two distinct areas, one considered slightly easier, and the other where holes 11, 15, 16, 17 and 18 stand out for their individual complexity, allowing golfers to combine all the technical elements of the game with the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.
As the crowning moment of the Meliá Cuba Golf Cup, tonight’s gala dinner for the awarding of prizes will once again keep the participants in the raffles on their toes, whose winners will be treated to a one-week stay for two at one of the hotels managed by Meliá in Varadero.
Always in October, the Meliá Cuba Golf Cup boosts occupancy at the Meliá Las Américas Hotel, one of the most competitive tourist products in the famous beach resort of Matanzas.
