Matanzas educators attend seminar to prepare for the upcoming school year (+photos)
With a cultural presentation performed by children of the Círculo Infantil Saltarines del 2000, on the occasion of the International Children’s Day, the seminar for the preparation of the 2023-2024 school year began this Thursday in this occidental province.
According to the opening plenary of the event, held in the theater of the René Fraga Moreno Pedagogical School and in the presence of MSc. Dania López Gulbone, Vice Minister of Education in Cuba, the work exchange is taking place in the capital city of Matanzas from June 1st to June 3rd, where MINED authorities and specialists are training directors, heads of educational levels, methodologists and a representation of teachers from the municipalities to guarantee that the objectives, indicators and goals of the Continuous Improvement of the General Education System project are met during the next school year.
Among the key issues addressed and which are priorities for Cuban education, the improvement of the methodological work in order to improve the preparation of teachers and the importance of promoting the application of science, technology and innovation in the teaching-learning processes in favor of the integral formation of students stand out.
Other aspects of special interest for teachers in Matanzas, as well as in the rest of the country, are political-ideological and preventive work, vocational training for teaching careers and attention to young people and vulnerable communities.
In addition to plenary sessions and conferences, the seminar program includes the work of commissions, which cover all educational levels and include the participation of directors of the sector and University professors as advisors.
These specialized groups, which will meet this Friday, will collectively analyze and deepen the new methodological procedures, as well as promote the best experiences and good practices in management responsibility.
The working meeting of the Matanzas educators concludes this Saturday and also becomes a propitious space to evaluate the progress and deficiencies of the territory with respect to the main processes and projects of the sector, to recognize several professionals for their outstanding pedagogical performance and to ensure what concerns the next school year in view of the complex economic and social situation of the country.
