Norma Llerena Pérez, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba in Matanzas, inaugurated the Cubanacán chain’s tourism brigade, made up of workers from various facilities in Cuba’s main beach resort.

Norma Llerena Pérez, a member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba in Matanzas, officially launched the Cubanacán tourism brigade, comprised of workers from various facilities in Cuba’s main beach resort.

After acknowledging the willingness and immediate response of these men from the Ministry of Tourism in Varadero, Yobany Gil, Cubanacán’s delegate in this province, highlighted the presence of this detachment in Las Tunas, among the regions affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Gil expressed the strong commitment of our colleagues to successfully carry out the task, as they have done on other occasions, most recently when Hurricane Ian affected the hotel and non-hotel infrastructure in the province of Pinar del Río.

He specified that at the head of the representative brigade of the 13 Cubanacán hotels in the country’s main resort is Carlos Miguel López Reyna, deputy general manager of the Iberostar Selection Varadero hotel, National Vanguard of emulation and one of the most preferred accommodations in the Cuba destination.

Vladimir González Rivas and Javier Torrens are the two representatives of the Starfish Varadero hotel, announced Yahima Ortega, general secretary of the union bureau. This recognition was also echoed by her counterpart at the iconic Sol Palmeras, Arnaldo Díaz Hiedra, who praised the actions of José Andrés López Rodríguez and Yusimil Castañeda González.

This contribution to the province of Las Tunas is in addition to others undertaken by members of the Provincial Union of Hotel and Tourism Workers in Matanzas (SPTHT), who, from the moment Melissa passed through eastern Cuba, began a movement to deliver material goods and money to those seriously affected by the hurricane.

Cubanacán, a wholly Cuban-owned company, was officially established on August 5th, 1987, and remains a favorite among those who choose Cuba as their leisure destination, visitors who opt for its facilities.

The competitiveness of this hotel chain’s leisure products has been recognized by the inclusion of five of its 13 properties in the group of eight leading national collectives belonging to the SPTHT (Spanish Society of Hotel and Tourism Professionals).
