During the month of May and until the end of June, community meetings are being held in Matanzas to discuss gender violence and the role of women.
Sponsored by the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), they are aimed at providing the necessary help and raising awareness about the harmful consequences of such practices on vulnerable families and society.
By means of conferences and exchanges, a meeting was held on Wednesday at the Canímar Popular Council, in the municipality of Yumurino, according to the main feminist leaders in the province.
At the same time, in the community of Carbonera, the 11th Congress Assembly of the FMC was held, which was attended by the member of the Council of State and secretary general of the Cuban women’s organization, Teresa Amarelle Boué.
