Tenth anniversary of the National Union of Energy and Mines flag arrives in Matanzas.

This Friday the 8th, the Flag for the 10th anniversary of the constitution of the National Union of Energy and Mine Workers (SNTEM), an organization born with this name on September 18, 2013, will arrive in the province of Matanzas.

Yanlys Yanet Durant Gómez, general secretary of the SNTEM in this western territory, detailed to Radio 26 the program for the banner’s stay in Yumurinos, including activities in municipalities such as Cárdenas, with a strong presence of the oil sector, in Jagüey Grande, Ciénaga de Zapata and Matanzas.

There will be a tour of emblematic labor collectives such as the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant or the Firefighters Museum in the capital city; while one of the most relevant activities will take place in areas of the Supertanqueros Base, with the recognition of the linemen participating in the electrical recovery in the sister province of Pinar del Río, affected by the rains left by the passage of the Idalia meteorological event.

Durant Gómez said that on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the SNTEM, actions have been multiplied to promote productive tasks, the fulfillment of economic plans and investments such as the one executed at the Supertanker Base with the construction of the first of the tanks destroyed by the fire of August 2022 to recover the lost storage capacity.

He highlighted the realization of other political, ideological and sports activities in a day that has among its main objectives to recognize the examples of dedication, performance, ingenuity and spirit of victory of the men and women of this guild, which daily dodges the aggressive policy of blockade of the United States against Cuba.

In Santiago de Cuba began the tour of the banner for the 10th anniversary of the SNTEM, which will remain in Matanzas from September 8th to 11th, when it will be handed over to the leaders of the province of Mayabeque.
